Is it possible to have java bindings for the components?

Sure, but somebody will have to write them, and I don't have the time for it.

I'm developing it under java-gnome umbrella. And it's in a pretty good shape now. For people willing to test bzr branch is at bzr://research.operationaldynamics.com/bzr/java-gnome/hackers/serkan/libnotify/

Libnotify branch is merged to mainline. It will be released with 4.0.12
